Kyrgyzstan Aims to Transition All Public Services to Blockchain by 2028
Kyrgyzstan has unveiled ambitious plans to digitize and migrate all key public services to blockchain technology by 2028. The move, announced by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, is designed to curb bureaucracy, enhance transparency, and bolster citizen trust in government operations.
The Central Asian nation is positioning itself as a digital hub in Eurasia, with blockchain serving as a cornerstone of its Digital Kyrgyzstan 2024-2028 strategy. The government has already laid groundwork with a legal framework for VIRTUAL assets, a state-run crypto exchange, and preparations for a gold-backed stablecoin (USDKG).
Infrastructure development runs parallel to these efforts—new power plants, transport corridors, and data centers are under construction while universities expand IT and engineering programs. Regulatory sandboxes will allow private firms to test blockchain solutions without traditional barriers.
